It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
More specifically, my empowerment media brand began in 2006, less than a year after me graduating from Florida A&M University with a degree in broadcast journalism. I began hosting empowerment conferences with the likes of people like Dr. Lajoyce Brookshire, author of Soul Food, which we all know as one of
Black America’s favorite films.
However, in 2016 I launched a full service media company, LR International after seeing the need for faith based professionals to know how to navigate their careers post dilemmas and evolve.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
Sadly, my experience in the church world has been believers who don’t believe.
Because one of my professional certifications is in the mental health space, I understand that people have a hard time believing in what they are not use to seeing. So, if a person is not use to seeing people win authentically, the right way, it’s hard for them to accept that there are genuinely people succeeding due to hard work, their own creativity, and perseverance.
Everyone is not into schemes, gimmicks and bad behavior. I realized early on that throughout the church world, there seems to be a belief you can’t do well unless someone gives you a hand out, you’ve been beat down, scandalized or mistreated, or until you turn 50. I don’t subscribe to that level of mentality and never will. I know where hard work, education, and trusting God can get you exactly where you desire to be. Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I specialize in faith based ideas, professionals and products integrating into the mainstream.
I work with celebrities, athletes, politicians, fellow life coaches, ministers and more.
I have helped people land reality tv show contracts, pitched tv shows to major networks, place products in Wal-mart and other stores, put together conferences and more.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Believe in yourself. Get around other people who are successful. Find mentors who are happy to lead you in the right direction. Get away from naysayers and negative people. Never stop learning. Have a vision for your life.
When you know where you want to go, it’s easier to discern which opportunities being presented to you may not be the best for you.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Contentment in every area of my life, spiritually, financially, mentally, emotionally, relationally.
What’s next for you?
I am working on a product for parents that I am putting the finishing touches on now. I believe parents have the power to change the trajectory of the world we live in, simply through parenting. I look forward to producing a product that contributes to this.
