Exclusive Interview With Martaveous Holliday Fashion Designer And Open Air Vintage Owner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Martaveous Holliday.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Making a long story short, I have been an athlete my whole life.

Growing up in Los Angles sports and fashion go hand and hand.

I would turn on NFL football games early just to see what the players were wearing when I was younger.

I was inspired to make my own clothing because of this, I started my own brand called Lamar Leon when I was 17.

The clothing brand did well because I used my football connections to make sales.
I continued this clothing brand on and off until my last year of college.

I decided in 2019 that I wanted to take fashion more seriously since I was 24 and abut to graduate college.

I only had one guaranteed college football season left so I took advantage.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

I went to three different high schools and three different colleges because I wanted to chase my football dreams.

I had very little time to pursue my fashion dreams until I finished college.

Success is very difficult when you can’t say consistent so with my older clothing brand I never saw the brand take off as much as I would have liked but all of my collections sold out eventually.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I am the owner of Open Air Vintage.

I’m an American Fashion designer and Sneaker curator.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

The sky is the limit, don’t be afraid of the unknown.

Follow your heart 🙂

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success is chasing your dreams, as long as you are doing what makes you happy.

What’s next for you?

The end goal is to make sure I create clothing that a lot of people love and want to wear.

I want to work with a big company like Nike,Adidas or New Balance to collaborate on new designs preferably shoes.

I would also like to have at least 5+ Brick and mortar stores across the U.S. by 2030.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?

People can reach me on Linked in or Instagram.
