Exclusive Interview With Deanna Casablanca

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deanna Casablanca.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Hi, I’m Deanna. Since I was a child, I loved organizing and decorating spaces. It was a natural outlet for me to use my creative energy and find joy in the joy others received from my designs. My passion for decorating and design, lead me to a design school on the east coast. Learning from amazing designers and having the opportunity to internship with them. I was sure I was going to use my passion and talents in a career that would allow me to use and expand my creativity and design pallets.

That was not the case; instead, I found myself working retail on the design team, in a furniture store for several years.

The rules and regulations did not allow me to use or expand my passion or creativity toward design. I found myself dreading going to work each day. Between the toxic work environment, hours and days required for me to work and feeling as though my passion and skills were stagnant. I began carrying this stagnant, low energy to other areas of my life. I knew deep inside I had to make a shift.

I quit my job and created D. Casablanca Interiors!

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

I was in a car accident which required a spinal fusion and several other medical procedures in-order for me to work and function daily. I had to take a leave of absence from my job at a retail furniture Showroom. I was struggling with pain and the unknown as far as my body was concerned, but I also felt a relief from not working at my job. During my leave of absence and recovery, the urge to make a change in my career path was speaking to me more and more. I wrestled with self-doubt, fear of the unknown and maintaining a stream of income in order to live. I went back part time but knew I had to begin taking steps in order to design and implement my dream career.

Then COVID hit. Our store closed.

Having time away from a challenging work environment, I found my pain was starting to cease. In time, I knew I could not go back to that dead end job. It was time for me focus on my dreams and passion for design. I started to build D. Casablanca Interiors. I reskilled myself, getting certified in home staging. I began doing consultations and expanded my business into outdoor space design. I now feel connected to my true passion – creating spaces that matter and that reflect the client’s goals and desires.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

D. Casablanca Interiors desired outcome goes beyond just having a beautiful space. Creating a beautiful space is the mechanism used to bring joy, comfort, beautiful memories into each client’s life. It’s a pathway for others to find solace, comfort, more energy and joy as they navigate and experience this life. The service I provide is navigated by the core belief, that our external and internal home are connected and reflect each other. The finished product will leave clients with their desired outcome, reflected visually in their external home and felt in their internal home.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Find your true passion and calling. Once you do that, brainstorm a variety of ways to monetize each passion. Don’t be a perfectionist. Get outside your comfort zone. Make fun a priority. Build your skills. Overcome money blocks. Get creative!!! LOVE yourself & enjoy the ride.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success comes from the by-product of a life lived from the inside out. The key to living a successful life is grasping the awareness that you are enough. Once you understand that, you create the space within your consciousness that allows you to realign harmoniously with your higher good.

What’s next for you?

I continue to focus and visualize the joy my clients feel when they have a home that brings calm and flow to their overall life. I feel joy and purpose to offer this service to others, but it goes beyond design. The many relationships that have been built and nurtured over time, has been a gift. Home is the space we retreat from the day to day. It’s the space we nurture and care for ourselves and our family. Our home is a reflection of our personality, how we see ourselves and the world. Working with others to create joy, calm, organization, memories with friends and families, is gift and passion I embody, using creative design. Whether it be working with relators or individuals, my offering is creating a space where others can feel and experience their desired outcomes.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
