Today we’d like to introduce you to Charlene Bond.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my company in 2014, the same week I graduated from college and landed my first corporate job in marketing. But I took an interest in Web Design and Marketing years before that. I first got started in Web Design with MySpace in 2006, and today here I am as a full-time business owner and entrepreneur.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
My most recent challenge was not being able to run the business myself for a month this year due to sickness. The good news is I have an amazing team in place that was able to run the business for me. Sometimes it’s difficult being a small business but it’s important that you don’t run your business as a one-person operation. Due to my team and my amazing husband, the business kept running smoothly while I recovered. Another challenge in the past has been financial issues and not keeping up with the numbers the business was making. I went 4 years making a profit and not even realizing it! A great CPA firm helped me figure this out, which is also an extension of my team.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I founded and own a web design agency called, Prolific Xpressionz where we build result-driven websites that increase online visibility, attract customers and convert sales for small businesses while maximizing their time and money. We specialize in both Shopify and WordPress, helping e-commerce and service-based businesses. We’ve helped many of our clients’ launch or relaunch their online stores and increase their revenue to 6-figures or more.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Learn to follow God and discover the plans He has for your life. When I founded Prolific Xpressionz 7 years ago in college, I was a young college student with a heart to worship the Lord and build my relationship with Him. At the time, I thought I wanted to be an architect but realized it was for the wrong reasons. God had other plans for me and my life has been growing in Him and success ever since. I would say when you have Jesus, you have success.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Being at peace with myself and what I’m doing. Knowing sometimes things may get rocky but serving a God who will transform the rockiness into a pillow of comfort when needed. That is success to me because that means I can overcome anything ultimately heading to success.
What’s next for you?
Right now I’m focused on God, family, health, and business. I’m an entrepreneur at heart, so I have a new venture in the works called Faith x Freedom Apparel. It’s a Christian Clothing Line.
