It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
Specidy “Pooh” has been perfecting her craft and building her empire for over Twenty- five years since the age of 15. With these years of experience below her belt, this Successful Stylist is able to effectively provide consistent hair services to her clients throughout the Richmond metropolitan area, surrounding cities & states. Receiving an Icon Award in 2014 & Featured on the News in 2016 & Featured in Hype Hair in 2020 At the age of 21 (2009), Specidy “Pooh” opened her salon “One Touch of Paradise Salon “. In 2014, Specidy ‘Pooh” expanded to Spa Services included Massage Services. At the age of 39 (2019), Specidy “Pooh” branched into building her own brand, RVA Cutting Chic Pooh.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
No it has not been easy. Starting out in the beauty industry, I had a little help learning as an assistant but when I branch out on my own under other different beauty pros they did not want to help you. You was on your own.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
Specidy “Pooh” Boone- As an advocate for healthy hair & corrective haircuts, Specidy “Pooh” has more to offer than a typical Hair Stylist. Rather than solely “styling” her client’s hair, she specializes in caring for her client’s natural tresses. Being knowledgeable about natural & relaxed hair, Pooh understands that every client is different and she takes great pride in both learning and catering to the needs of every client that sits in her chair. She also is a advocate for running a professional and success business in the hair industry, Specidy “Pooh” has more to offer than a typical stylist & salon owners because of her years of experiences as a cosmetologist & salon owner and passion. Rather than starting without a blueprint to follow, she specializes in helping stylist and salon owner work on their MINDSET, SKILLSET & MARKETING to be successful & thrive.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
If you’re on the cutting-edge and don’t know how to start or how to continue to thrive in your business. Then the best gift you can give yourself and your business is to invest in what you need to know to be successful. Success is measured by the knowledge you know and the actions you take. Getting guidance by a professional with experience can save time, overwhelm and frustration.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
When I think of Success. I think of a vision that started with a thought that was planned out with a strategy, then implemented with faith. Guided by continuous education and improvement.
