Terrence Demps II Advances to District Toastmasters Competition

From New Member to District Stage

In a story that underscores the power of decisive action, Terrence Demps II has advanced to the District Competition for Table Topics within Toastmasters International. What makes this achievement particularly compelling is the speed of his rise. After joining Toastmasters in 2025, Demps quickly distinguished himself by winning at the club level and placing second at the area competition.

Although he initially finished as runner up, an unexpected development opened the door for his advancement. When the first place winner became unable to compete, Demps was selected to represent his area at the district level. This opportunity highlights both his readiness and the impression he made on leadership, including Club President Jim Cyganek and Area Director Lou-Ap Abraham.

A Rapid Ascent Fueled by Action

Demps’ journey reflects a broader philosophy that has guided his professional and personal growth. Having been a Toastmasters member for only about a month before excelling in competition, he credits his progress to taking immediate, imperfect action rather than waiting for ideal conditions.

“If you think of what you have to do as easy, it will become so,” Demps says, encapsulating the mindset that has propelled his momentum.

This belief has been reinforced through his ongoing commitment to development. In 2025 alone, Demps enrolled in multiple high level programs, including Speakpreneur with Paul Getter, Paid to Speak with Dutton Mindset, and Next Level Academy with Jeremy Anderson and Eric Thomas. These experiences have sharpened his communication skills and deepened his ability to connect with audiences.

Building a Platform for Impact

Beyond competition, Demps is the founder of Demps Creative Enterprises LLC, a leadership and personal development company focused on helping individuals harness the power of their voice. Through speaking engagements, coaching, and strategic messaging, the company equips leaders to communicate with clarity, confidence, and conviction.

His growing influence is also shaped by diverse life experiences. From launching his first professional development initiative internationally in Moscow to completing the Marine Corps Marine Security Guard program, Demps brings a global and disciplined perspective to his work. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Leadership with a concentration in organizational management, further strengthening his foundation as a communicator and leader.

Looking Ahead to the District Stage

As Demps prepares for the district competition, his story serves as a testament to what can happen when preparation meets opportunity. His rapid progression within Toastmasters not only reflects individual talent but also the impact of consistent effort and belief in one’s potential.

In a space where many hesitate to begin, Demps’ journey offers a clear message. Action creates momentum, and momentum creates results.
