Pastor and Influencer Tatianna Merritt Brings Encouragement to All With The Release Of Debut Book “Devotions of Love”

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatianna Merritt.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Born and raised in the City of Detroit; I discovered my passion for fashion at a young age. After graduating from Wayne State University with a degree in fashion merchandising, I worked as a commentator and an interviewer in the television industry and later pursued a career in modeling.

I grew up in the Catholic faith, but it wasn’t until adulthood that I realized something was lacking in my life. I realized that I was searching for “something.” My encounter with God changed my life, provided me with a purpose, and led me to my husband, Jonathan Merritt.

Since encountering God, I have allowed him to lead me in every aspect of my life. I learned truly to trust him in the good times and the bad. I have trusted God in marrying a man within ten months of knowing him, marrying a man who is the son of a bishop and would soon become pastor of the church. I have trusted God in having four beautiful children. So now, with every opportunity that comes, I continue to choose to trust God. He is my source for everything. In the past year, I have added pastor, full-time influencer, and author to my titles. As I reflect on where I came from and where I am now, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness and unwavering hand in my life. This trust and faith have brought me to this point and have helped birthed my new devotional, “Devotions of Love.”

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

In life’s journey of success, I’ve had to overcome my own thoughts – thoughts of self-doubt and self-negativity and thoughts of continuously trying to talk myself out of things. It’s been like a fight between me versus me. I’ve had to deal with people who didn’t see my vision and tried to steer me toward complacency. In overcoming these challenges, I’m continuously reminding myself that I got this and to keep pushing forward and realize that with God, all things are possible. I make a conscious effort not to focus on others’ success or what they have achieved and focus on what God is doing in my life. I continuously concentrate on the personal journey unique to my success, and He has pre-destined for me.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I am a wife and mom of four. I pastor alongside my husband, Jonathan Merritt, at Straight Gate International Church in Detroit, MI, where I serve in an administrative role within the ministry,
I am also a full-time social media influencer, where I inspire women to prioritize themselves amid their busy lives. I touch on beauty, fashion, marriage, parenting, spirituality, and family topics. I help others realize that you can live the life you desire with faith and dedication. I have gained 100,000 followers online by creating motivational and dynamic content focusing on faith, beauty, fashion, and fitness.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Be committed, and don’t give up! Learn from the journey and realize mistakes and failures are part of the process. Also, always think positively about yourself and what you’re trying to achieve!

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me means living a happy, fulfilled, and whole life while creating and building a legacy that will impact generations to come, all for the glory of God.

What’s next for you?

A continuation of growth in every aspect of life! I never want to get complacent. I plan to establish a mentorship program and create practical products and tools to help people ( I.e. journals and planners).

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
