Meet Virginia Griffin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Virginia Griffin.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Thank you for this opportunity! I started writing as therapy and transitioned from there. I decided to use my gift to help others. Also, I have been an avid reader since I was a young child. It just made sense to combine my love of reading and joy in telling a good story.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

The first challenge I had to overcome was insecurity. I would repeatedly tell myself that no one would be interested in what I had to say. Once I moved past that hurdle, everything else just fell to the wayside. I’ve learned that often times self-doubt is a person’s biggest hurdle. Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate but that we are bigger than what we can even imagine.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

In addition to being an author, I am in charge of the PGM Foundation. It is a nonprofit focused on providing affordable housing for the marginalized in society that don’t “qualify” for government subsidies like Section 8 or Housing Vouchers. PGM is also in the process of establishing a trade training program for various industries such as plumbing, electrical and HVAC for those that want to have a successful career that can’t or don’t want to attend college or university. So to answer your question, I specialize in people. As my mother would say all the time, “If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living will not be in vain.”

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

First, believe in yourself. If you don’t believe in you then no one else will either. Second, surround yourself with people that will support your dream as if it is their dream and that will always be honest with you about what works and what doesn’t. Finally, breaks are necessary. Take time to stop and smell the roses, literally and figuratively. Life is about balance. Yes, work is vital and so is enjoying every day that we are blessed to be alive.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

When we die, there’s a dash between the dates that we are born and the day we died. Who have I helped? Who have I hurt? How many people are better off because of my interaction with their lives? Success to me is how many people I have impacted positively in that dash space.

What’s next for you?

My next book entitled, Gin on the Rox, is scheduled for release on January 25, 2022. It’s an inspiring work about my life, challenges I have encountered and the not so traditional resolutions that I believe will be helpful to those that may have similar experiences.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more.

There are plenty of options to connect with me:
