Interview with the author of The Book of the Sun

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Rook.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

It’s been an extraordinary, roller-coaster ride. Where to start? A dreamy lonely child, out in the country, climbing trees, making camps, roaming fields and woods. In love with reading, everything I could get my hands on, especially sf, fantasy, historical, crime fiction. I lived vicariously in enchanted worlds. Music was glorious to me, Chopin, Sibelius, Beethoven, Bach, jazz, the Beatles …I danced. Unsurprisingly, I did English and Music at York University. Then worked in music production, bookselling, the scrap metal industry, running my own employment agency, writing novels which were published by Headline, Gollancz, Scholastic and others. Eventually the curiosity which impelled my reading, lead me to train as a psychoanalytical psychotherapist for children and their families. Having been an atheist all my life I was astounded to find one of my patients cured by a spiritual healer. I investigated, and found my atheism disappeared in the face of overwhelming evidence from reincarnation studies, mediums etc. I took a course called ’45 Days to Awakening’, and on the twelfth day, the Sun started telling me about the universe and why it is so difficult here. This is why I have now written a book about this amazing conversation.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

The most difficult challenge was, and remains, the immoveable materialist paradigm, which will not look at the evidence. Any scientist, politician, teacher, business man or woman who starts talking about spiritualism is at best thought of as eccentric and at worst will lose their jobs. Thanks to various organisations, to which I belong, The Scientific and Medical Network, The Gallileo Comission, Humanity Rising, etc, clever people, who’ve had ‘anomalous’ experiences are getting together to think of the best way to present the overwhelming evidence to our materialist media and education system. I am beginning to play a more active role in this process.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I’m a writer. It’s a solitary business, and though I like working with editors and agents, really it’s between me and my keyboard.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Realise what you really care about. And then go for it. It’s the old cliche, find your passion. Nothing else will do, you will be bored and miserable if you compromise on this.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

I want my book to touch millions. I want the Sun’s beautiful message to reach all of suffering humanity, in the appalling messes we make of the business of living with each other on this beautiful planet.

What’s next for you?

A second book, about our difficulties here ….from how men and women relate to each other, how families work, to the power structures and racism that bedevil us, balanced against the Sun’s wonderful revelation that our only way ahead is to learn to get on so that we may become a group, god mind one day.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
