Today we’d like to introduce you to Jes Gamble.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
I started out of a Freelance Makeup Artist. For years my clients would ask me about how do I keep my skin clear and even. Without even knowing it, I would give a full skin consultation and give a full skincare regimen right there during my 1 hour makeup session. During one of those 1 hour sessions, my client’s aunt, who just so happened to be an esthetician, recommended that I should attend esthetics school because the skin analysis that I just performed was amazing and with some education it would be top notch. I didn’t even know that this was even a thing in the beauty Industry. She gave some names of some real good schools in the area, I chose one who had the closest start date and a year later the rest was history.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
Besides being a single parent of 2 awesome kids, the other main challenge that I had to overcome was my mindset. I originally thought it was the lack of support from my immediate family because of their fears of the unknown. It’s not like they are not proud of me but their fear of the what ifs when it comes to entrepreneurship. My parents dream was for me to go to college, get a degree and start my career with a good paying job that has great benefits that I can retire from. I tried to live their dream but it wasn’t for me and it honestly made me very sad. I was sad because of the mindset I thought I had to be in to be successful. It was therapy that gave me the strength to correct my mindset to understand that I cannot live my parents dreams but I need live my own dreams. The moment I took charge of that, I became unstoppable.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I specialize in skin care treatments for those of a darker skin tone that includes treating acne and acne scarring, hyperpigmentation or uneven skin tone, dehydration and anti-aging. I also provide makeup services and body treatments.
One would want to work with me because not only do I perform the treatments but I also provide you with the education behind it. I believe if my clients have a better understanding of the treatment they will have better results due to having the knowledge for the why behind their treatment plan.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Always show up and be consistent! Always reevaluate your systems and methods to ensure they are working for you. There are people out here they wants you to show that you are making the money fast but there is nothing wrong with going at your own pace just as long as you are succeeding at pace that’s comfortable to you.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
To me success means to have a goal, a plan with steps to accomplish that goal and implement that plan to achieve that goal. Success means to achieve your goal with the implemented plan set to accomplish it.
What’s next for you?
What’s next for Faced by Jes? Starting in 2022, I will be opening Faced Academy which will provide educational classes on different skincare modalities, treatments and techniques. The Brazilian wax class will be launching January 2022 with my male Brazilian wax will be launching in February 2022.
I also will be releasing my body care line (includes body washes and scrubs, body butters, yoni washes, yoni soap, yoni spray and yoni balms) and men beard care line (beard cleanser, conditioner, oil and balm) in the beginning of 2022.
