Financial Wellness Is Not a Luxury. It Is a Lifeline for Women
For too long, financial conversations have been treated as optional. Something to figure out later or pass off to someone else. But for Tashaya J. Singleton, founder of The Financial Reset Project and TJS Training Solutions LLC, financial wellness is not optional. It is essential.
With more than two decades in the financial services industry as a trainer, licensed insurance agent, Certified Risk Manager, and Certified Insurance Counselor, Singleton has seen firsthand what happens when financial literacy is missing. One moment, in particular, changed everything.
A client passed away, leaving his wife without financial stability. She had trusted him to manage everything. In the aftermath, she lost it all.
“That was the turning point,” Singleton shares. “I realized this was not just about money. It was about security and survival.”
That experience fueled her mission to educate and empower women, especially those who have been left out of financial conversations or feel overwhelmed by them. Today, she teaches practical financial principles in a way that is clear, relatable, and immediately usable.
The data underscores the urgency. Nearly 60 percent of women defer financial decisions to a male partner. When those relationships end, 75 percent of those women will apply for welfare benefits for the first time. At the same time, women contribute an estimated $2.5 trillion annually to the U.S. economy. With a major wealth transfer underway, Singleton believes the time to act is now.
“Most people do not have a money problem,” she explains. “They have a money management problem.”
Through The Financial Reset Project, Singleton simplifies complex financial concepts and turns them into actionable strategies. Her approach meets women where they are and helps them move forward with clarity and confidence.
Her career includes notable recognition such as 15 year distinction awards for both CIC and CRM, PIA Committee Person of the Year, and certification as an approved Virginia Continuing Education Instructor.
She is also the author of The Financial Reset Plan, The Secrets of Earning Money Without a Job, and Insider’s Secrets to Insuring Residential Investment Property. She hosts The Secrets of Earning Money Show Podcast, where she continues to educate and inspire.
Looking ahead, Singleton envisions expanding The Financial Reset Project to include in-person events. Her goal is to train women and partner with nonprofit organizations, to bring financial education to communities that often lack access.
Her next milestone is already underway. On May 18, 2026, she will launch the first virtual cohort of The Financial Reset Project, designed to help women take control of their finances and build lasting security.
Financial wellness impacts every part of life, from health to opportunity to peace of mind.
There has never been a better time for women to take ownership of their financial future.
