Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhondelle Booker.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Wow , there are so many different things that have happened in my life that has gotten me to the place I am today ! I would say one of the most significant and most impactful thing that has ultimately changed the entire trajectory of my life is my younger sister being killed back in 2017. Her name was Hermanda and she was 29 years old. She was a 7th grade public school teacher and did everything right her entire life and still was killed! Her death was very hard on me. I couldn’t wrap my head around how someone so good, who had never done anything wrong her entire life- not even the normal things like cut school could be taken so suddenly! She had just started her career, had so much more to do and so much more life to live and never got the chance. I always wanted to own my own business but always felt I wasn’t ready. I felt like I didn’t have enough money saved, like I didn’t have a solid plan and always felt that I should wait a little longer until I had everything in order. Well my sister’s death taught me that time waits for no one and since I nor anyone else is promised tomorrow, my time to act was now. With a new perspective on life and a sense of urgency I decided to take a risk and open my first business venture.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

No, success has not come easy. Let’s start from the beginning. I had given birth to my 3rd child just a few weeks after my sisters funeral. It was hard taking care of a newborn while dealing with my own grief. At the time I had a friend who was offered an opportunity to open a spa suite and asked if I can be her business partner. Due to different visions for the business we ended up parting ways, but that short experience was more than enough to give me a taste of entrepreneurship I was yearning for. Not to mention, it opened up an entire field I never knew was possible, medical aesthetics! This was a perfect fit for my nursing background! I quickly became addicted to aesthetics and got certifications in almost every beauty class I could take from lash extensions to permanent makeup and so much more. From there I got certified in more advanced medical aesthetics such as laser hair removal, post operative care, IV hydration and dermal fillers. Just when I was gaining momentum my younger sister Roshenda took ill and passed away of a heart complication in 2020. This was yet another devastating setback for me. After she passed away I went into a very dark place. It took a while to come out of that. Thinking of her and how she would be so mad at me if I wasted my life wallowing forced me to push forward.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I am always evolving, always learning new techniques, new skills to improve my craft. Currently I specialize in post operative care and take care of clients after plastic surgery. I offer nursing concierge services where either myself or other medical staff assist clients either at home or at their hotel after surgery. I also run a busy Med Spa Practice where we offer everything from dermal fillers, Botox, IV Hydration, Laser hair removal, chemical peels, facials , body contouring , vaginal rejuvenation and much more! I offer so much there is something for everyone, no matter what tickles your fancy. As far as the competitors go, I do not believe in competition and much prefer collaboration over competition. I encourage everyone to have a business and have no issues with sharing what I have learned along the way.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

My best piece of advice is to put your fear aside and just do the thing ! If you never try you will never know what you are capable of! Think about that! If you never ask the answer will always be no! Take a chance on yourself and don’t half step. Being an entrepreneur is a full time job and not for the weak. You will have days when you don’t want to get up, and you have to push yourself to get through the day. There will be days, weeks even months you may not make any money. You have to be mentally prepared for that. It’s not easy seeing all the money going out and none coming in. But I promise you, if you continue to show up, believe in yourself and have a solid plan to execute, you will begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel and you too will have that “ah ha” moment.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Wow, success to me isn’t what most would consider it to be. I don’t fly around in a private jet or have a fancy sports car. I honestly don’t think I have “made it” yet. I am a definitely more financially secure than I was before and I no longer exchange my time for money so for me that’s a big plus. I come from humble beginnings and that has taught me the value of a dollar. I am building a legacy and am breaking generational curses of poverty. My children all have business ventures and they are all under the age of 18! To me success is a mind set and not a reflection of my bank account. I measure my success by how many lives I have touched, how many people I have inspired and how many families I can support. Success comes with great responsibility and I am thankful to be in a position to be able to help and uplift others. I pray that God gives me the strength to continue to do so.

What’s next for you?

There are a few things up my sleeve. For one, I plan on having a Luxe Beauty Bar in every major city offering luxury services to the masses. I would like to expand my training institute and add many more skills that can help an individual become their own boss. I also plan on doing more speaking engagements on a much larger scale to share my story and motivate and inspire others.
