Hip Hop Artist Sam Purpose Uses Rap To Inspire Masses With His Faith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Purpose.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I was raised in the small town of Middlesex NC with my mother after my father’s death. I started writing music when I was 9 years old using a dictionary to help me expand my vocabulary to rhyme. Inspired by artist like Nas, Biggie, Busta Rhymes I presented my flow as a lyrical artist with catchy punchlines. When I gave my life to Christ and was introduced to christian hip hop I began to write more with the purpose of sharing my life struggles and the solution I rely on to overcome them. I now use music as a tool to share my faith and inspire others to pursue their God-given purpose in the midst of life’s obstacles.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Epilepsy has been an obstacle that I have had to face since the age of 9. It was so rough that as a young man I was limited in my driving privileges which was very discouraging for me. My father’s death in 1991 was another challenge I had to overcome. I was very close with my dad and for him not to be here as I grew up was tough being the only boy of 3 older sisters.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I am a songwriter, music producer, and hip hop recording artist. My specialty is songwriting and producing. I critically think about the music I create from the song structure to the cadences and message I want to convey. What I bring to my competition is music that is carefully crafted from the ground up and not just another song to vibe to

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Success starts with a relationship with Jesus Christ. To be more specific one must be teachable, committed, submitted, and patient. There is no other way to learn those characteristics than with a relationship with Christ. Success is more than just external achievements, It starts with having a peace of mind in chaotic circumstances and facing the things that you fear with courage.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success means to be victorious in every area of my life, family, business

What’s next for you?

I will be releasing more new music on all digital platforms and creating music videos. I will also be creating more shirts and hoodies from my clothing brand PITMOA which stands for Persist In The Midst Of Adversity

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?

The best way to connect with me is to follow me on my website at sampurposemusic.com
