Exclusive Interview with Torey Thomas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Torey Thomas.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I started from humble beginnings on Ferris Avenue in White Plains, NY. I used hard work, perseverance and determination to get where I am today. I have been motivated to travel the world, I always wanted to play basketball and give back to my community.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

I faced many challenges on my journey. My first challenge was leaving White Plains School district to go to Trinity Catholic High School in Stamford, Connecticut. I faced challenges of not being a tall basketball player. I faced challenges of not having the resources to go to the best camps in the country. I face challenges of being underrated. I saw success as something I was going to create, I know success doesn’t just come to people. Success is something you earn.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I am a 14 year professional basketball player who’s played in 20 countries and traveled to over 50 countries. I have a wide array of experience living in different countries, learning about different cultures and immersing myself into the living conditions of each country. I am very knowledgeable about many subjects and I am willing to learn and lead. I am a leader by nature. I play the point guard position and basketball which has been a stabilizing position in my life. I learned valuable lessons from my college Holy Cross that stated men and women for others. I am person who will sacrifice myself to help others.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

The best advice I can give the readers is believe in yourself. Have faith in you abilities. Be open to learning new things, be open to constructive criticism, and take chances. You will fail but it’s about the lessons that you learn that will affect how you bounce back from failure. Don’t be afraid of success. Success will come but you have to be prepared and ready for it.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success is a continuing thing. Success means consistency, success means progress, success means prepared. Success means you never reach your zenith you are always striving to be successful. I feel that success is not a destination but the journey you always want to stay on.

What’s next for you?

I would like to open up a community center that would include classrooms, sports complex, music room and dance. I believe that there’s so much to learn and our kids can teach each other with the help and guidance of positive role models.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?

People can connect with me on my social media platforms such as Twitter @gotorey Instagram @gotorey and my website www.GoTorey.net
