Exclusive Interview With Daniel Peterson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Peterson.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I started when I was 16 writing in my room. It was such a good way for me to let go of things and I carried it with me since then. I would change up my flows, the structure, just mess around with so many things to see what works. After a lot of that I felt I was in a place where I could take this another level and actually bring it to life. I never sang once in my life before but my mentality has always been if you love it then what does it matter. I’ll find my sound and once I do everything just starts rolling.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

The biggest challenge was finding what I can do well. I listen to artists like The Weeknd and there is no shot I hit the notes he does, but I love his songs and the writing it consists of. So figuring out how to create that product but for someone with my voice becomes hard, takes a lot of time and patience but if you commit to it you figure it out. It is a challenge but it is also fun in it’s own way because it really makes you lock in and find it, sometimes finding things you may not use for that song you’re working on but you will use for another.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

My speciality, my vision. I love my attention to the finest detail. I’ve only ever been a writer, never produced much at all so if I gained that ability to move my vision from words into sound, it would be incredible. When I get that ability I would never stop creating, I would be addicted to it. My music is my passion and anyone who works with me will know that from the start, never a doubt my all is in this. Why do something if you’re not going to give it everything. I love getting into different elements of my surroundings and my mind and finding something new I can create or enhance what I already have. I am also a social person, I love to conversate, communication is key in anything.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Find what you love and go all out. Give it your everything because I remember being 18 and thinking I got all this time I can chill and wait it out. Now I look and think of how different I would do things and how I wish someone just could tell me, even tell myself, you know you love this so go after it. Don’t get into your head. Be comfortable knowing you could fail over and over and over again but you will find it in the end. And don’t let people tell you your art isn’t right. That is you and what you felt was meant for what you made, no one knows how you work and what you see. Stick to what you believe in and feel good about that.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me means I found happiness. I can look at the day coming up and be excited for it. I know I get to wake up and create what I love and do what I dreamt I always could. There are so many things you can do for money, but when you do something for love it can’t be beat. I live for that love, for that feeling of making music, hearing it and getting absolutely hyped on it. Seeing people at your shows losing their sanity for you. Feeling my music impacted people like it did me would be a success to me.

What’s next for you?

Next up is more releases. As many as I can. I have a lot of different material I am working with right now, feeling what I like for this time and this feeling. I’m already loaded with content, just a matter of putting the pieces together and getting it just right. The big picture, I find my way into lineups, shows, events, and share it with everyone. I want nothing more than to just get crazy with what I’m doing and let it all go.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
