Exclusive Interview with Chef Niki Nichole

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chef Niki Nichole.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Thank you for the opportunity to share my Entrepreneur Journey.

I will first like to take the time to give thanks to God because nothing is possible without his presence. Blessing me through my lifelong growth on this earth. It all started with the love of cooking, which is my passion. I started cooking for family and friends for free. That lead me to cooking while I was also working for different companies. I worked for Comcast, Verizon, Marriott and Elephant Insurance and all these companies played a big part in allowing me to use my gift to start off my business by selling food to my co-workers onsite. One of my friends said to me, “Nichole you should take your passion for food seriously and turn it into a business”. So, I saved my money for two years along with donations from great family and friends to help me get my first “Mobile Yum Yum Food Truck & Catering Events” That leveraged me to doing more food truck, catering and personal chef services for my customers.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

You’re right, I have had a lot of challenges along the way. Most of them would be learning the business side of running a food truck, catering, and private chef business. I’m more of a Chef, but working for yourself you wear many hats. So, I overcome these obstacles by working on delegating and building teams to help me leverage my company. Still working out the kinks, but I’m taking business steps one day at a time and giving myself goals to meet along the way. Like owning my own restaurant.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

Well, I specialize in “good food experiences”. I don’t only cook good food, but I also make people feel special while I’m serving them a hot delicious dish. Working in hospitality & customer service for 20 years gave me the skills and experience to know that people can get the same product anywhere. But what sets me from the competition is making them feel special and giving them a memorable feeling when eating my food. That is the key to repeated customers. I’m really in competition with myself.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

My best advice is if you’re looking for your purpose. It’s found in what you really love to do and what you’re good at doing. Take baby steps to learn the process, enjoy the journey and you will find your way. And always keep God first in everything that you do in life!

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

The word success means being pleasing in God’s eyes. Also, having to provide for my family and being able to pass on a legacy. So, when I’m retired my passion still rings on in people’s minds and tummies for years and years. That is one of my big dreams to success!

What’s next for you?

What’s next for me is having a restaurant that serves my great food ideas. Franchises of different “Mobile Yum Yum” products and food truck businesses internationally.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
