Today we’d like to introduce you to Bobby Ivory, Jr.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

As a student of life and business I read, I listen, I observe, and I do. I got where I am today via integrity, a tool chest of unique skills, and relationships built on trust, respect, and authenticity. How did I get where I am today, you ask? At the very core, loving what I do. The essential key to it all is clarity. Few things in life are more energizing than seeing a clear path to where you want to go and what you want to achieve.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

That’s an excellent question. My favorite motivational personal development speaker the late Jim Rohn once said “Some people don’t do well because they don’t feel well….health problems can ace your chances to do well.” For about half of my life I’ve had to battle health challenges (some quite severe) that kept me in and out of the hospital consistently for a 7 year stretch. Since I wasn’t dead I surmised that God wasn’t done with me so I focused my energy on reinventing myself and planning what I would do when I was well enough to “get back in the saddle.” Through that I’ve learned that we must always be prepared to create another version of our selves.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I’m a success coach & visual media professional. Because of my own personal challenges I’ve developed my own system of overcoming personal obstacles through a set of core values that when practiced yield quantifiable results. Concerning choosing my coaching company over my competitors, If you don’t respond well to negative reinforcement, I’m the personal development coach you want. I don’t believe it’s necessary to brow beat individuals to motivate them to embrace the principles I teach. I help them find their “Why” to serve as the mechanism to drive them forward towards the attainment of their goals. I don’t try to lead where I haven’t been. Relative to visual media creation, I’ve been in the video production field since I was 14 years of age. I’m more than 3 decades past that milestone. I am creative, need little direction from the client, my style is unique, and I’m efficient with my particular skill sets.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

My advice to readers who desire to find success is this: Understand that success is looking for you. Success is looking for a good place to stay. Develop yourself as a “place” where success wil want to stay. You may ask “Well, how does one do that?” The answer? Personal development. Success is something you attract, not something you pursue.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success is the ability to have a profoundly positive impact on your environment and significantly improving the lives of the people you come in contact with in big and small ways. It’s leaving people better off than they were before they met you.

What’s next for you?

I have a rather lofty goal to build a 90 acre retreat center that focuses on helping people get past their problematic dilemmas as well as provide a resort for people to recharge and renew their spirit, soul, and body, young and senior alike. Every soul requires renewal at some point. My desire is to help people achieve absolute clarity so that their God-given purpose is never in doubt.
