Today we’d like to introduce you to Karma Fouch RN, LE.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Having excelled in healthcare as a critical care nurse and administrator, I knew there was something more for me. I made the decision in 2017 while working for one of Atlanta’s most prestigious healthcare company’s to go back to school. This time I would shake it all up and attend beauty school where I could pursue a new career that allowed me to build upon my nearly 2 decades as an RN. In 2019 I opened SKINWORKS Day Spa and we have since established ourselves as the best place for self care on the east side of Atlanta.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Of course COVID! Our first anniversary was during quarantine in 2020 and we had just experienced being involuntarily shut down, just as a healthy clientele base had grown. Also, finding a balance between my personal life and that of a full time entrepreneur. They tend to bleed HEAVILY into each other often! I’m currently doing much better at drawing a line in the sand and leaving some elements of work – at work.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

Here at SKINWORKS Day Spa, we specialize in corrective skin practices. This includes skin tag and mole treatments, chemical peels, pigmentation perfection, and most importantly – education for clients to truly comprehend the process and how to best manage their conditions outside of the spa. My nursing foundation sets the tone and intention for every service experience provided at SWDS. The whole person is considered and every experience is tailored to individual client.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

My best advice is to shake off fear and doubt early! Learn, strategize, plan and execute! And don’t forget to do some hefty networking along the way…

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Doing what you love and getting paid for it! It’s CLUTCH!!

What’s next for you?

I am currently restructuring my certification classes to put more emphasis on topics I am passionate about. I want to provide a solid and well executed learning experience to my students.
