It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story? How did you get to where you are today? After being downsized for the third time, I found myself at a crossroads. I could either settle for another job where my fate rested in someone else’s hands—or I could take a chance on me. I chose the latter.
Developing people and inspiring them to live on purpose has always been more than just a skill; it’s a calling. At the time, I was a single mom balancing the needs of my son, a high school senior, and my daughter, who was just starting kindergarten. There was no time to waste.
As I walked out that office door for the last time, I sat down and took inventory of my experiences, my gifts, and the things that truly lit me up. The answer was clear: coaching and entrepreneurship. I had been coaching in some form my entire life—whether as a high school track coach or a director in Mary Kay Cosmetics. It was time to make it official.
I invested in a life coaching certification course and never looked back.
Over the past 13 years, I’ve coached countless individuals through life and business, spending thousands of dollars and hours learning what makes a coaching business truly successful. Through that journey, I discovered my passion wasn’t just in coaching—it was in helping other women coaches turn their knowledge into thriving online businesses.
Today, I focus on empowering women coaches by helping them build the systems, structures, and strategies necessary for success. I teach them how to package their brilliance, market with confidence, and sell with impact.
Nothing is more fulfilling than seeing another woman step into her power, turn her expertise into a business, and create the freedom and impact she desires. My story isn’t just about overcoming setbacks; it’s about using them as stepping stones to purpose. And now, I get to help others do the same.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way? As an entrepreneur, challenges and obstacles aren’t occasional roadblocks—they’re part of the daily journey. Two of the most complex challenges I’ve faced have been aligning with my niche and recognizing the need for help—then figuring out exactly what kind of help I needed. Both processes are layered, much like peeling an onion. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, another layer appears.
I have been coaching and consulting for 13 years. However, after the pandemic forced a global slowdown, I found myself reflecting on my business. I realized I had been casting too wide a net instead of going deep. That’s when real clarity surfaced. Up until then, I had coached both life and business clients, all while tirelessly searching for the secret to making a coaching business thrive in the online space. I invested thousands of dollars, testing strategies, learning through trial and error, and navigating endless frustration.
But eventually, I cracked the code. I finally understood what a coaching business needs to be successful. So, I took all those lessons—everything that worked, everything that didn’t—and packaged it into a framework designed to save other women coaches time, money, and frustration. My business was born out of persistence, real-world experience, and, yes, many hard-earned lessons.
Another major challenge was realizing I couldn’t do it all alone. My first hurdle? Getting over myself. I had to embrace the African proverb: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint. I had to assess my own strengths and growth opportunities and, more importantly, accept that just because I could do something didn’t mean I should be the one doing it.
The next layer was determining where I needed the most help and then finding the right people to fill those roles. But even after hiring, I learned that success isn’t just about having the right team—it’s about creating clear expectations. I had to define key performance indicators (KPIs) for each role to measure effectiveness and alignment with my business goals.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that entrepreneurship isn’t just about overcoming challenges—it’s about evolving. Every challenge has pushed me to become a better leader, a smarter businesswoman, and a stronger team builder. Along the way, I’ve learned to pray more, extend myself grace, and accept that mistakes are part of the process.
Building a successful business isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about being willing to learn, adapt, and grow through every new layer of the journey.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life? First and foremost, define what success means to you. True success isn’t a one-size-fits-all concept—it’s deeply personal. Take the time to clarify what fulfillment looks like in your life and career.
Next, prioritize personal development and embrace your purpose and calling. Success isn’t just about achieving goals; it’s about becoming the person who can sustain them. Understand your capacity—what you’re capable of, where you need to grow, and how to protect your energy along the way.
Whatever path you take, make sure you:
- Understand the rules of engagement – Learn the industry, the process, and what it takes to win.
- Seek coaching and mentorship – You don’t have to figure it out alone; guidance accelerates growth.
- Be accountable and disciplined – Consistency and integrity separate dreamers from doers.
- Develop emotional intelligence – Success isn’t just about skill—it’s about how you navigate life, challenges, and people.
- Build and nurture strong relationships – Your network is your net worth. Surround yourself with those who uplift, challenge, and support you.
Success isn’t just about reaching the destination—it’s about how you grow along the journey. Define it. Pursue it with intention. And never stop evolving.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you? Success is becoming the best version of myself and making the impact that God has called me to make, transforming the lives of those He has assigned to me. It is the peace that comes from knowing I have poured my energy, focus, and dedication into bringing my vision to life—maximizing my potential and seeing the results of that hard work manifest.
For me, success is about living a well-rounded life, where God and my family remain at the forefront. It’s about serving them wholeheartedly while building a legacy that creates a lasting impact in my community and beyond.
Ultimately, success is about giving, caring, sharing, and empowering—helping those around me recognize the greatness within themselves, step into their calling, and equipping them with the tools to make their own meaningful impact in the world.
