America’s Book Coach: Susana Perez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Susana Perez.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I have always been an entrepreneur at heart. I remember being a kid in Uruguay making arts and crafts for sale. Coming to the US gave me an opportunity to start my business here and support my family as a single mom.

During my extensive career, I have worked in the areas of advertising, sales, management, and customer service. I owned a very successful cleaning company that earned high reviews in the market. My cleaning business provided for my family but I always wanted to do something that used my creative skills.

Cleaning houses I met a woman who ended up being my client and was a Book Writing and Publishing Coach. I asked her how could anyone without any previous experience (and having English as a second language) could become a published author. She educated me on the industry and encouraged me to write my first book. I later sold my cleaning business in 2017 and self-published my first book the same year. By now I’ve published 6 books, including 3 bestsellers.

My passion is to empower others to share their knowledge and passions and provide a great living for themselves and their families while doing what they love. I believe anyone can be a successful entrepreneur with the right mentor by their side.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

I published my first book in 2017 but I allowed fear to creep in and didn’t write another book until 2020.

It took me a little while to build my confidence to decide that this is what I was going to do, that I can do it, and that I was going to be successful at it. I hired a business coach and a Bestselling Book Coach and I was able to launch my company and publish my Best Selling memoir. It can be found on Amazon.

Waking up from my American Dream; is a story about immigration, grief, and healing. I am glad that I didn’t give up because I was able to help several first-time authors publish their Best Selling books and launch their businesses and careers.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I work on a one-on-one basis with my clients and also thru a DIY group coaching program.

I help them discover the “why” behind the book and based on that we create an outline and start the writing process. After the writing, and editing is done we move on to the cover design and get ready for their book launch day. We publish their books in ebook format, paperback and audiobook in order to reach a wider audience.

What sets me apart is that I guarantee Bestseller status due to my knowledge of sales strategy and algorithms. I also give them media exposure so they can proudly use the “As Seen On” banners (ex. Fox, NBC, BDS, etc). Which no other Book Coach is offering at the moment. I also offer copies of their printed book

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

I’ve learned that life is valuable and that we need to take every chance we get to pursue our dreams. We don’t know when our last day on this earth will be and that should make us value our time. Are we doing what we love or just working for someone else and paying bills until we die?

Working remotely, having zoom, and social media gave us the opportunity to reach people and provide services from anywhere. That allows us freedom and many opportunities to explore ways to monetize our skills. And if we don’t know something, there are many ways to learn from others and have access to information.

We live in a unique time for humanity and we need to take advantage of that!

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Dollars and cents provide operating capital and financial gains but it does not equate to success. Success is best defined by the passion and dedication for which your organization operates, it cannot be bought or acquired.

What’s next for you?

I have many goals for this upcoming year but am not ready to go into details yet. 😉 But I can tell you that falls into helping entrepreneurs beyond the book becoming a bestseller.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?

They can find me on Facebook, Instagram, or my website.
