Carlos Ramírez Rea joins the Red Cross and Charleston Hispanic Association as a volunteer

 

Carlos Alberto Ramírez Rea is not only a great professional but he also has a big heart. He is a Chief Engineer, ISM Internal Auditor and Container Inspector and has more than 22 years of experience in the maritime area and large vessels. However, much of his time during 2022 was dedicated to studying and increasing his knowledge in other areas such as safety and health; some of the courses taken are: primary first aid, medical first aid, medical care, personal survival techniques, fire prevention and extinguishing, competition in survival craft and rescue boats, training in crisis management and human behavior, advanced training in fire extinguishing, among many others.

These courses have earned him the opportunity to recently participate as a volunteer for the Red Cross and for the Charleston Hispanic Association, an association that helps the Latino community living in the Charleston, South Carolina area.

In addition to his willingness to help others, Ramirez is one of the best at what he does. He has been an External Machine Supervisor at a Shipyard, a job he performed for 2 years and 10 months and was responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of external machinists involved in the installation, maintenance and repair of ship machinery and equipment. He is an expert in major maintenance of the main engine, as well as auxiliary engines of vessels. He has 9 years of experience as Chief Engineer on board oil tankers and general cargo ships worldwide. He has 16 years of experience handling MAN B&W engines and the last two years with Wartsila engines.

Carlos Alberto is a professional capable of planning and executing preventive maintenance of propulsion machinery, adequate planning of priorities to achieve the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and reduce unit downtime in accordance with the safety policy and procedures established by the company’s national and international regulations. He knows how to coordinate the scheduling of repairs in Dry Dock through record review and maintenance or resolution of malfunction problems to restore your vessel to optimal operation. He knows how to execute the implementation, improvement and audit of ISO 14001 – 2015 and 9001 – 2015 standards.

With vast experience in different roles over the years, Carlos Alberto Ramírez Rea stands out for his technical knowledge and his ability to solve problems efficiently. His time at recognized companies in the maritime sector has made him an expert in his field, and his dedication to his career is admirable. In those 22 years, he has worked with recognized companies such as: Consolidada de Ferrys, PDV Marina, Atlas Marine Group, Fugro, Astillero Detyens, Puertos deportivo de Puerto Seguro, Marflet Marine International, SA in Madrid, Spain; among many others.
