Masi Habibi: Turning Failure Into Success

Arianna Huffington wrote that businesswomen “need to accept that we won’t always make the right decisions, that we’ll screw up royally sometimes – understanding that failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of success.” Masi Habibi, master day trader and the founder of MasiTrades, learned that first-hand: “I traded for a year before I became profitable and lost a lot of money, but for some reason I never gave up.”

It was those early missteps, however, that ultimately made Habibi a success, both as a trader and as an entrepreneur. Without a mentor in a male-dominated field, she was forced to learn from her mistakes, and created her own path to success. “It was empowering to know I could do the same, if not more, than my male counterparts” without any help from them along the way. It inspired her to go and do likewise, starting MasiTrades, and becoming a YouTube and Discord sensation in order to teach other people, and especially women, how to achieve their own financial success without having to go through the same trials she did. Without those early struggles, she would have had nothing to share with others, making the failures an essential part of her experience.

For Habibi, it has been an incredibly rewarding journey, and not just in terms of her own finances. Rather, she sees herself as empowering other women with her hard-won expertise. As she explains, “Once I got on YouTube and women started to learn from me and told me how they were scared to get into trading because it was so male dominated, I was motivated even more.”

Nor does Habibi think that her level of success is limited to those who start out with wealth. Indeed, as the child of Afghani parents who immigrated to America when she was only three years old, she knows what it is like to start out small, and it has become an essential part of her mentoring process: “The great thing about trading options is you can trade and make the same, or an even greater return on investment starting out with less capital. I’ve helped people flip 1K accounts to 50K, so you don’t have to start out with a lot to achieve financial success.”

Ultimately, Habibi hopes that the courses MasiTrades has developed will continue to help her clients be able to day trade successfully, no matter what their background, becoming a full-blown options trading resource for all people.
