Kevin Windham: From Lyft Driver To Self Made Entrepreneur!

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Windham.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

At 23 years old, I knew I wanted something greater out of life. Driving as a full time Lyft driver was not an easy way to make ends meet. After researching numerous career opportunities that would accept limited education requirements, I chose to become a licensed realtor. After finishing my real estate license, I was positive I’d go off and sell homes. The paradigm shift for myself was when a potential client of mine told me they would pay a hefty finders fee to help them find a recreational cannabis facility. It was from that moment on where my life had changed forever. After countless hours of research, it turned out there was a significant need for helping operators find compliant cannabis real estate. After only 60 days as a realtor, I was averaging over 20 calls a day off with new clients putting their trust in me. The business started booming instantly. After becoming an expert in cannabis real estate, I decided it was time to take ownership and applied for the actual cannabis licenses themselves.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

The biggest challenge for me was creating standard operating procedures for my business. Cannabis is not federally legal, yet, so that has created a bit of an hurdle for my clients and myself. The industry I was committing to didn’t exist prior to the state legalization of it, so there was no research or book to read that guided me in the do’s and dont’s of commercial cannabis. I feel like I’m leading the path for others.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

At the beginning of my career my main focus was assisting cannabis operators to secure compliant real estate and apply for recreational cannabis licenses. I help find the perfect location for cannabis locations within state regulations, and I take the stress out of applying for the licenses needed to continue. One of the main reasons clients chose to hire me over my competition is how cost effective my approach was in assisting the operators secure cannabis licensure. After countless licenses procured, I decided to shape shift my energy more into the operations of the business. I know the laws and regulations regarding recreational cannabis, and I’m continually researching the new updates.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Work ethic is one of the biggest tools to finding success. Without being laser focused, and a militant work ethic, it is easy to find complacency once you taste a small piece of success. I wake up early. I keep to my routines. I make sure that I stay up to date with current research, and I’m focused on top-tier customer service. If my clients have a question, I want to give them the clearest and most factual answer possible.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Everyone’s version of success is different. Success in my opinion is being able to do what you want, when you want, how you want, on your own terms. Success is a holistic combination of financial, mental, and physical wellness. For me, success is getting my clients the licenses and properties they need while continuing to elevate my business and family.

What’s next for you?

I want to continue growing my business. Every entrepreneur wishes to elevate constantly. I want to continue leveling up. Next for me is International cannabis licensure. I’m ready to start sharing my knowledge and commitment to legal cannabis both stateside and abroad.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
