Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Jimenez.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
Thank you for the time. Well, I should start by saying that I grew up like most immigrant kids coming to America. My siblings and I came from humble beginnings. I was always a charismatic kid with a ton of energy but I didn’t have a channel to focus that energy into. So, I was always getting into trouble in school and getting into fights. As I grew older, I decided to take the untraditional route and dropped out of college without telling my parents. I wish I could say that I then found the renewable energy space and generated 10 million dollars in sales, but that isn’t the case. I got depressed. My depression lasted almost a year, until one day, I stumbled onto a job ad on indeed.com that said, “outside solar qualifier”. I didn’t even know what that meant. All I knew was that it said I would make $60,000. I thought, great! I would make more money than my parents and I didn’t need a college degree. Little did I know, that I was in for a rude awakening because I completely sucked at this job. I didn’t make a single dime until my third month on the job. After taking a ton of rejection, I was finally able to rise to the top of that company and make my first 6 figures. The rest was history.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
My journey definitely wasn’t a pretty one. I faced many challenges on the way and continue to face them to this day. The list of challenges would include being the first sibling in a traditional Mexican household to dropout of college and start a business, facing racism in my own industry, living out of my 98 Honda Civic and not having accessibility to financial resources in the beginning. I am thankful for these challenges that I had to overcome because they made me the man I am today.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I help residential families and commercial business owners transition to clean renewable energy with no upfront investments or collateral towards their property. The reason why my company is different is because of the accessibility that our customers have to us, the direct transparency and relationships we cultivate with them.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Follow the pain that’s where your freedom lies.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
The first thing that pops into my head is legacy. The whole reason why I believe in being successful is to make my lineage proud. I want to be remembered long after I am gone. So that implies, that I have to help many people and leave the world a little bit better than I found it.
What’s next for you?
I am working on creating an 9 figure, profitable renewable energy business. That gives back to the community and provides opportunities for the youth to make a 6 to 7 figure career while helping the planet.
