Today we’d like to introduce you to Antoine Cureton.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m an investor and entrepreneur from Baltimore, MD. I run a successful Option Trading community(Stock Option Savages), an online options trading coaching company (SolidRatio Investments), and the author of a #1 best selling book (Structures of A Solid Investment). I have a strong background in Information Technology. I used to take my extra money to invest in the Stock Market. Then started teaching myself about options trading, but didn’t take options seriously until 2019, while working at T.Rowe Price.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
I’ve had many challenges, but this one stands out as it was pivotal to my career. I wanted to work for T. Rowe Price for several years, I applied three times, but never got pass the second phone interview. I knew that if I could get in front of them, I could get hired.
After my fourth attempt I scored an in person interview-which was a boardroom-panel interview. I thought I did terrible-as the Vice President gave me zero emotion, not even a subtle smile. I was notified by the time I got home that I’d got the job. I wasn’t there a full six months before getting promoted to the trade desk floor. I recall asking one of the top traders a question who replied “I have a $3 Million dollar trade that have to be executed within the next 60 seconds, I don’t have time for this!”. I’ll never forget that statement, it was my biggest motivation.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I specialize in options trading. I’ve been trading fulltime since January 2021.
I’d choose me over the competition, because I’m a former Senior Infrastructure Operations Analyst, of Investment Trading Systems for T. Rowe Price, and spent one year working on the trade desk floor with some of the best traders in Baltimore, MD
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
If you want success it’s very important to manage your time. That said, it’s even more important to be kind to people, especially the ones who ask for your help or advice. Even if you don’t see how you can benefit immediately, it typically pays dividends down the road.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
For me success means freedom, flexibility, health, and the ability to give back.
What’s next for you?
I love doing in person workshops and speaking events. I want to speak at schools and universities to educate and inspire the youth. I’m also working on a foundation in honor of my deceased brother, Anthony Cureton, to give back to children and families in need. That’s my ultimate calling, that’s what I want to be remembered for.
