Real Estate Broker Tamairo Moutry is Inspiring the masses by Teaching Real Estate Investing
Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamairo Moutry.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m a Milwaukee, Wisconsin native. I started off as a 4th grade Teacher. I became a real estate investor while I was teaching. I bought my first home in 1999. I used the equity in that home to grow my real estate portfolio to 50 doors of real estate back in 2004, which included single families and multi-families. During this same time, I became a Loan Officer. I became a Mortgage Broker a year later and started my own Mortgage Company. The market crashed in 2008. I closed my mortgage company. By 2009, I had obtained my real estate license and became a Realtor. I started helping first time home buyers. I also continued helping investors to buy and hold as well as flip properties. I ended up liquidating my entire real estate portfolio in 2010. I also took advantage of the market. Since I had saved lots of money, I bought multiple properties and flipped them for additional capital and helped other investors to do the same and helped them manage the projects, as well as helped to manage their Tenants. By 2012, I obtained my Real Estate Broker License. I opened two real estate firms in Wisconsin and Georgia within 3 months of each other. Within 6 six years, I opened 4 real estate firms. I now own 4 real estate companies in Wisconsin, Georgia, Florida and Illinois. I also started back investing in 2018. I’m now back up to 40 doors in Wisconsin, Georgia, and Florida.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
Obviously, the market crash was instrumental to my challenges. However, I was very strategic. After having to close my businesses and liquidate my portfolio, I just decided that I would just continue to move forward and not let those events be a determining factor as to how the rest of my career was going to be. I had lots of real estate knowledge. So I continued to compound that knowledge. More of the challenges were that some people didn’t believe in me at first. They though I was too young to be successful as I was at that time. So lots of people didn’t really take me seriously. So it was very difficult for some people to think that I had so much going for myself at such a young age. Me looking very young has always made people give me a second look. But once I started to have conversations and people learned more about me and my experience, they were happy to give me the opportunity to work with them. I don’t really look at all of these things as challenges as much as I think of them as lessons. Lessons are blessings. They all shaped me into who I am today. There really isn’t enough room to say everything here. I’ll be writing a book about my journey in the near future as well as creating digital real estate courses.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I help anyone in real estate which includes first time home owners. I help people to fix their credit if they need that service. I also have commercial services and experience. As described above, my main niche is supporting real estate investors who are out of state, to invest out of their home towns. I’ve created an e-book about out of state investing which I’m selling for $99. I haven’t even published it on Amazon yet, and I have been selling it in my Facebook Groups. The reason why people should choose me over someone else to work with is because most don’t have the knowledge that I have. It’s one thing to have a Realtor to open a door for you and write an offer. But it’s definitely a different story when your Real Estate Professional/Broker is in 4 states with 4 real estate companies, has a one-stop-shop concierge service for out-of-state real estate investors, is a Private Money Broker and provides private money lending/funding to them in all 50 states, offer property management services for them, inspections, I’m also a Licensed Real Estate Instructor in the state of Wisconsin, teaches online real estate courses to potential Realtors so that they too can become licensed, have significant experience coaching, mentoring and training real estate investors of all skill levels, knowing how to analyze properties and get the best results for them. I coach, mentor and train and have more than 20+ income streams that are real estate related.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
This is all about mindset. If you believe you will be successful, you will. But you’ll definitely have to work for it. They can’t expect anything to fall in their laps. It does happen sometimes, but it isn’t likely. There’s no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs. You can’t skip any steps. Everyone needs to work as hard as they can now, to get the desired results later. By no means, no matter what obstacles stand in their way, they shouldn’t be consumed by it. It’s all in how you respond to situations and solve problems. Even if you’re scared, still keep going, never give up. Don’t listen to naysayers. Never let anyone talk you out of your goals and desires of your heart. Just because they say you can’t do this, doesn’t mean that you can’t. That’s their insecurities, not yours. Don’t let them project that on to you. There’s nothing worse than wanting to do something your whole entire life, but you decide to let fear stop you from doing it, or you let someone talk you out of doing what you really want to do. Fear and reluctance kills many dreams. Continue to move forward with your aspirations so that you’re not filled with all kinds of regret later.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success means being able to own your time. Work when you want, where you want, and how you want. It means being able to travel and go on vacations when you want, without having to ask anyone if you take a day off. It means being able to spend time with your family when you want, and being able to work at home in your pajamas if you want, and take a nap whenever you want without calling to ask someone if you can. It also means being healthy, wealthy and happy, instead of being sad, miserable and broke.
What’s next for you?
I’m continuing to grow my Facebook groups. I’m going on Tour in several states to teach out of state real estate investing to a large group of people. I’m starting a real estate mentorship/apprenticeship program. I’m starting my waiting list on my digital real estate courses that are soon to be finalized. I’m creating a merchandise and product line around my Women’s Facebook group, Top Women in Real Estate.
