Today we’d like to introduce you to Douglas “Tink” Wright.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
Wow… what a journey I like to think of my story as a good kid in a Mad City I’m a product of my environment, rather when I was street hustling on the southside of Houston or the South Side Chicago. I come from a broken home, but it wasn’t dysfunctional my mother worked two jobs and went to school when she didn’t have school pick up extra work shifts and provided always, but I always wanted more I always and independent and wanted to get my own, so I got to where I am today from growing up in an impoverished environments and just wanting to get out and really make something of my life.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
Just by not having a father figure in my household brought forth many challenges, my brother and I had to figure out how to be young men and of course we made plenty of mistakes along the way, drugs and alcohol was always around, I didn’t attend the best of schools, so I dropped out in the 9th grade completed and received a GED then enrolled into the Columbia College of Chicago and that’s where my journey of music arts and entertainment started!
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I am founder and CEO of AREA57 MUSIC GROUP Houston Texas base Independent Record label that started pushing product out in 2014 but was actually started a lot earlier in 2001. What sets AREA57 music apart from its competitors is I started out as a record producer, artist and sound engineer with production credit with acts such as Mike Jones Lil Flip and Devin the Dude. Those years working in studios and behind-the-scenes has definitely given me an advantage over my competitors, I learned the ins and out of this industry hands on.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
First thing first you really have to have passion for your work of choice having passion well keep you motivated at times when you really want to quit but
Dedication is the key! Having the will to win can take you places you could never imagine, I always believed in working smart, working hard is cool but working smart is better. Keep going!
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success means a few different things to me, succeeding at any personal goals, rather Win Lose or Draw as long as the mission got complete and finalized. Success is definitely not about money unless the goal was to be financially secured in that particular situation, one of my biggest successes was to provide and take care of my mom and that mission is complete!

What’s next for me is real estate Investments!
