This Entrepreneur is Breaking Generational Curses By Leveraging Credit
Today we’d like to introduce you to Jarell Mejia.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
Being born 1 pound 2 ounces set the tone for the rest of my life. I was originally born in the Dominican but my mother took me and my two brothers to New York when we were young to get us away from my abusive father. My mother sacrificed everything in order to make sure we were taken care of, especially myself due to my medical challenges of being born so premature. Fast forward to when I was 19, I got my first corporate job at Verizon. I have always understood how to talk to people so I quickly became a top ten producer for the Northeast. I left to go to Bank of America and that’s when I saw the power of credit. I realized that without good credit your options are very limited. Everything changed though when I had my first son Adrian. I was determined to find something that would make it so my child never had to worry about the things I had to worry about as a kid. In 2019 I put everything on the line. I left my 9-5, stopped doing network marketing, and launched my own credit repair business and the rest is history. By my fifth month I had done $33,000 in sales and that’s when I knew credit repair was going to change my life forever. I love helping people so credit repair is something I thoroughly enjoy providing to people. I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
There have been so many challenges on my road to success just like anyone who has started their own business. One of the toughest challenges to overcome was my friends and family not believing in what I was doing. I was constantly being asked “why would you leave a great job to start your own business?”. Looking back I understand, being in entrepreneurship since I was 17 had me jump from many different businesses throughout my career. However, I knew what I had with credit repair, that it was different than anything else I had ever done. There’s really no way to convince someone that you’re doing the right thing unless you produce results consistently. It took years for my family and friends to support what I do, so my best advice to anyone starting their own business is to believe in yourself because you can’t count on anyone else to do so. And if you do find someone that believes in you don’t take that person for granted. Belief is the most powerful thing there is in entrepreneurship.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I specialize in credit repair and there’s no one out there with better customer service than mine. Yes we fix peoples credit, removing negative items from their credit profile, but we also provide advice on how to build positive credit once the negative items are removed. Anytime someone has a question throughout the process either me or my team is there to provide support 24/7. We don’t just provide our service, we treat our customers like family and want to make sure they are happy throughout the entire credit repair process. This is why my business gets so many referrals because people can tell that my company has good intentions and that we genuinely want to support our customers so that they can go get the car they want, or the house of their dreams and feel happy about it.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Believe in yourself. There is nothing more important through the journey of entrepreneurship than the power of belief. Even when the results aren’t there yet, believe in yourself. When things don’t pan out the way you thought they were going to, believe in yourself. I know the number one reason I’m where I am today is because no matter what the situation is I believe in myself 100%. Also, keeping those that genuinely support your vision around you is just as important. It’s amazing to see what an individual is capable of when they have a circle of friends cheering them on, whether they’re down or up. You will lose a lot of people throughout this journey that you thought were your friends but this creates room for your real friends to show up because real friends will support and promote your business selflessly. Always believe in yourself and never take others who do the same for granted.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success means being able to provide for others who were not blessed with what I’ve been blessed with. It’s knowing my two sons will never have to worry about finances. It’s the feeling I get when I give my mom and aunties money to help pay some bills. It’s being able to go to the Mercedes dealership and not only get the car you want but also helping your friend get the car they want. Success is showing gratitude for the success you’ve achieved every day. My goal has always been to become financially independent to the point where I can support my entire family now and when I’m gone. I have achieved so much success because I have given so much to others, and that is the key to success.
What’s next for you?
Partnering with Ethan Duran and launching Corsa Credit has opened the doors to unlimited opportunities for the future. I plan on doing what I’ve done to get myself to this point while implementing everything I’ve learned throughout the process. It’s important to be diligent about potential challenges you may face but it’s even more important to have confidence in yourself that you will be able to overcome any challenge that gets in your way. What’s next for me is the next level of success. As much as I’ve accomplished and been through this is just the beginning, which sometimes I have to remind myself. I worked this hard for this long to get to where I’m at now and to take advantage of these resources that not many people gain access to. 2023 is going to be something no one has ever seen before as far as credit repair and I’m excited to put the work in.
