Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelby Hedgecock.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

My name is Shelby Hedgecock! I’m a business coach/mentor, web designer, and nonprofit founder based in Knoxville, TN. My mission is simple: inspire, empower, and impact millions of people who have big dreams to do what it takes to achieve them.

In 2014 I moved out to Los Angeles from East Tennessee and lived there for 8 years until moving back due to my health issues. While across the country, I produced a reality how called, “Not So Rich Not So Famous,” became a personal trainer, was a top performer in sales, competed at Miss California USA, worked as a “princess” for a job, founded my nonprofit, started a couple businesses, and more! I experienced a lot which made me who I am today and laid the foundation for my current business.

I’m all about personal growth, strategy, spirituality, & energetics, and have an overall passion for empowering leaders to step into their power and own their story so they can turn their vision into reality, too. I’m a firm believer that I have manifested my own life through inspired action.

One of my favorite quotes is, “The harder the ball hits the pavement, the bigger the bounce,” and I can’t wait to empower you to do the same, no matter your circumstances!

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

It hasn’t been easy in the slightest. I would say my most recent struggle was catching COVID in April of 2020. My world flipped upside down. I was a personal trainer at the time, had just turned 29, and was getting ready to launch the online wellness business I had worked so very hard on. Needless to say, I was on fire.

Then, out of nowhere, I caught a virus and it changed my world forever. I am chronically ill and still battling issues to this day from the infection. I had to give up my love for fitness and completely pivot my work. I’m thankful that after two years, I’m my health is stable because many SARS-CoV-2 injured patients still aren’t.

I think that’s important to realize in life… you never know when it can change. It’s important to be present and grateful for what you have today, because it may not be that way tomorrow!

All in all, my journey has been filled with tremendous ups and downs, but I feel like my transparency and innate ability to transform horrible life situations to power is what sets me apart from the average person. We are going to experience very low lows, but your lowest low is proof of how high your high can go! This is something I support my coaching clients with. Life is always going to happen, but the way we react and take control of our situation is everything.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I’m a business mentor/coach, web designer, & the founder of my nonprofit, Blooming Magnolia! I am obsessed with empowering entrepreneurs to take their business & life to new heights.

For coaching, I thrive in helping others unlock their potential, enhance their reputation, & elevate their mindset so they can confidently create a life they’re absolutely obsessed with. Because of my experiences and years of doing this work in my own life, I am able to hold my clients through it all and help to cultivate lasting transformations so they, too, can turn their pain to power.

I also graduate from a Trauma-Informed Coaching Certification called “Transcend” in March, so I will be able to facilitate somatic experiences with my clients so they can heal. I am looking forward to adding this to my toolbox!

As for web design, I am dubbed “The Queen Of Branding” by my clients, and love diving into someones vision and bringing it to life. I work with businesses of all sizes, public figures, actors, musicians, writers, and more.

For my nonprofit, Blooming Magnolia – I founded her on my sickbed back in 2020. We are a Long COVID Support & Mental Health Advocacy Nonprofit. Our mission is to empower others by providing a platform to strengthen & protect mental health and to promote education, research, and support for Long COVID survivors. Right now, we are raising money to expand our direct cash payment program for survivors who need help with medical bills and living expenses!

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Success is something that you have to define for yourself, and no one can do it for you. Success could mean a sense of giving back to the world and making a difference. It could mean a sense of accomplishment and career progression.

It could mean being able to do the things you love. It could mean being able to provide the best possible upbringing for your children.

It’s entirely up to you.

A one-size-fits-all approach is impossible.

One thing is certain, it’s never too late to write your success story, but the key is diving deep and figuring out what that word means to you then showing up every single day as your higher self or “future you.” I always try to make decisions from that place. Shelby in 5-10 years… what would she do? Make decisions from there and I assure you, your life will change rapidly.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me is loving myself, loving what I do, and loving how I do it.

What’s next for you?

More growth.
Continue building my legacy!

I am looking forward to my nonprofit, Blooming Magnolia, helping more patients with immediate needs and excited about coaching more amazing women so they can own their stories, step into their power, and create impactful thriving businesses just as I’ve done!
