It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
My name is Quincy Davis, better known as Q Dot Davis. I am a well known musical artist and businessman. As an artist, I struggled with getting shows, interviews and blog placements earlier in my career. I would always find talented artist that just needed that “next step” and that drove me to create Q Dot Davis Promotions. I learned everything I could about how the music game works and made sure I put himself in the right places to build rapport with the right people to serve as direct mentors as I created a solid business module. I am known for being a staple regional act as direct support for some of the biggest A-list rappers in the game, in and around my hometown of Birmingham, AL,. I also have an innovative “for artist, by artist” method of creating a platform for other artists on many levels. Q Dot Davis Promotions is now a thriving multi-faceted company growing bigger and more successful daily. My company won Alabama’s Hottest Promotional Company at the 2020 Alabama Music Awards and is the most reputable and recognizable promotions company in the state of Alabama. The company has assisted hundreds of artists nationwide with everything from basic consultations to actual label meetings that were lucrative for both the artist and myself. I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
I have had to overcome many adversities for sure. From funding my own dreams, attempts of people I know trying to block my blessings, to envy from people who had the same opportunities as me. I have even had to take different paths musically due to initial lack of support from local radio stations and personalities.
I know are a lot of people in positions to help me be more successful, but where I’m from, they don’t want you to be bigger than them. Either way I will be an icon. Mark my words!
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I specialize in great business relationships and building genuine rapport. I was born this way. My skill set can’t be bought or identically duplicated. Working with me is a smooth process and my offerings and goals to help people succeed are authentic. I offer consultations, interviews, blog placements, show booking, performance slots and PR services.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Don’t give up! That is the only reason you will certainly fail!
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success to me is simply enjoying life, being able to handle my responsibilities, and creating and nurturing good relationships that create positive growth.
What’s next for you?
I am still one of the most booked artists from Birmingham to date and I continue to successfully curate shows that allow rising talent to share a stage with me and promote their music.
