Today we’d like to introduce you to Jes Gamble.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
I have been interested in the Beauty Industry since a young age, I even wanted to be a Hair Stylist but I was always drawn to skin. I thought maybe I should be a Makeup Artist. I spent years doing makeup services in different capacities and while providing Makeup services I was also dropping skincare gems. It took a client to recommend that I look into being an esthetician. After looking into off and for some years, I found a school that perfectly into my busy life. When I performed my first facial, I knew I found niche and fell in love with skincare right there. Once I graduated, I went to work for a franchised Day Spa and immediately I knew it working for someone wasn’t it for me. I left that place in less than a year and expanded Faced by Jes to include skincare and waxing. Best decision I could ever make. Even though I love doing a great facial, my waxing services has really picked up. So much so that I recently became the #1 waxologist in the DMV area.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
I’m a single mom of two active kids. It was real hard trying to juggle football games, cheer competitions, school and a full-time then once I finished school my business became an different type of struggle. I sacrifice alot of time away from my children to ensure my business succeed. They were times where money was tight and things were disconnected but I always able to keep my business afloat, my kids happy and my functioning.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I specialize in skin care treatment for darker skin tones treating acne, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation or uneven skin tone, dehydration and anti-aging. I am also the home of the 7 minute brazilian wax. I also service both men and women and non-binary.
I provide a private and comfortable atmosphere for my clients. The aromatherapy, low lights and soothing music welcomes my clients and calms any worries they may have.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Be patient and consistent. True success doesn’t happen over night but it will come when the time is right for you.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success happens when you identify and live your true purpose. Just to do work I love with people I care about. I’ve worked with some amazing people.I love the give and take, the flow of teamwork, the creative riff. I love that. To me, that’s my definition of success, to be able to experience that with people.
What’s next for you?
Up next for me is to open my training university to teach other beauty professionals the new trends and the not so new beauty treatments.
The first course I’m starting with is my Wax Training class coming to Maryland in January.
