How One Weight Loss Coach is Helping People Lose Weight, Become More Energetic and Have More Fun

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharfunnisa Quadri.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I knew I wanted to do something about it. This is what started me on the Health Coaching Journey. I wanted to be able to make an impact by promoting health and wellness long before people develop diseases.

I had a slow and steady career, most of which was in the Information Technology and Software Product for Customer Relationships focussed Software. It makes for a pretty normal (Read Opposite of Viral) story. I worked in the tech industry for large companies in India and the USA for about 17 years.

And as a software consultant, I had done projects for many health insurance companies. The more I looked at and analyzed the large aggregated data sets of patients, diseases, and outcomes –  I could see that The Healthcare Industry in America is focussing on all of the wrong things.  It is truly a disease-care  Industry. The Insurance companies, hospital systems, and Doctors make money from treating the patients long after their chronic diseases have already developed complications. And absolutely no one is focussing on the prevention of diseases, longevity, and quality of life.  

Living with chronic diseases, aches and pains is the new normal, and while People are living longer. The quality of life is poor if you have to be on medications and yet cannot live and enjoy life to your fullest. To the Insurance and  Healthcare Industry, we are all diagnostics codes and dollar amounts. I knew I wanted to do something about it. This is what started me on the Health Coaching Journey. I wanted to be able to make an impact by promoting health and wellness long before people develop diseases.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

I am always asked how I switched careers from Information Technology to Health and Wellness. And there is much more I do on the side, Such as Investments in Real Estate, Crypto, NFTs and Other Businesses, besides being a mom of two Kids. I guess I have to believe that I am blind to challenges and have an infinitely positive attitude about success and achievement. Where everyone else sees obstacles and problems first, I only see possibilities. The only thing that has been a constant with my career path is “Change”. With all these changes, there is always a learning curve. I am a fast learner, and generally love to try out new things. If I dont understand how to do something, I just go ahead and learn. Without Excuses or blaming it on lack of education, resources or time. If things get boring or do not align with making me feel happy and content, I change course. And having learned and done so many things in all these years also means that you will never run out of ideas or work. Really – If you put in the work, take care of your health, then you will succeed,

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

The main project I have been working on currently is to help busy desk job professionals lose weight. And You do not have to go on a diet and eat boring tasteless food. You do not have to go to the gym every day. You do not have to build and reorganize your life around weight loss. We build weight loss around your busy life. There are many ways to lose weight. You can go join a Bootcamp at a gym, or swallow the hundreds of MLM protein shakes and expensive supplements out there, Download the next fancy app and try to pay their membership fee to lose weight. And some of it may provide you temporary success – Mostly starving you and having you burn way more calories by having you lift and train. The problem with these methods is that the moment you stop, the weight comes back right on. What we do differently in my Desk Job Weight Loss Program is that we make you think, live and behave like a thin person. You lose weight by modifying your habits one by one. And this is why we do not promise you instant weight loss or lose 100 lbs in 100 days. Your behaviors become healthier as you work with us, and no matter how busy you are or what is going on with your life, You still lose weight as a result of these new habits. You also work with a human and not an app.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

I learned this from the movie Iron Lady about the former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher – “Watch your thoughts, for they will become actions. Watch your actions, for they’ll become habits. Watch your habits for they will forge your character. Watch your character, for it will make your destiny. And watch your character, for it becomes your destiny. What we think, we become. …… And I think I am fine.”

So really watch your thoughts. Think Positively. When you have a desire to do something, don’t focus on why it will not work. Start focussing on how you will make it work. Take care of your health. There is only One body you get to live in. Take good care of it so that it helps you make money, enjoy life, travel, have meaningful relationships. Do not postpone happiness for tomorrow. I will be happy when I have this or that. Be happy Now. Instead of buying useless stuff, Invest in assets that provide you income without having to actively work for it. So I guess it is a lot of advice, but even if you take one at a time and implement it, it will get you massive rewards and success.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

It may really sound like a cliche. Here goes – If I have made one more person healthier, today. If I helped them quit their unhealthy sugar and fix their fast food addiction. If I helped them stress less and live more. Health, Wealth, Happiness and Relationships – Imagine, Aspire and Believe that you can have it all and then Go out and Get it. That is my definition of success.

What’s next for you?

So we have been helping people lose weight while having fun and eating delicious food. Get your health and body right – that is an absolute first step. The next thing we are looking to invest in is Healthy Aging and Longevity. Longevity – not so much in living 500 years, but actually living a healthier life without having to rely on medicines, medical interventions, and life support to keep you alive. In a 2019 study, CDC found that over 48% of Americans take a daily prescription drug to live. People think living with diabetes, cardiovascular, and other metabolic diseases is the new Normal. And the healthcare industry is happy to sell you the medicines and surgeries to treat these conditions. We are trying to change this and make “health” the new normal. You should not have to rely on medications to live. You should be healthy, and We have the research backing it. I want people to come join me in the quest to live longer, healthier, and lead more fulfilling lives.
