He Debuted during the Winter Of 2009 with Bottles & Spirit On Datpiff.com Which Reached Over 50K Streams Independently‼️ He Followed Up With a Mixtape Entitled #FuturisticFlow2 Spring Of 2010. This Project Debuted His Single #Nympho Which Reached #1 On Reverbnations & SoundClouds Trending Raps Board‼️ After a brief run in with the law he released #QualityOverQuantity Which Has Reached Over #10Million Streams As Of Today Through All Major Streaming Services‼️ While Serving a 23 month jail sentence Sleep managed to release his 4th Official project #MyLifes2Real4TheInternet Fall Of 2013… On April 20, 2015, he released #Unleashed & #UnleashedReVamped As An Spotify Exclusive‼️ February Of 2016, Sleep Dropped #TheSkeeMix Which Is Available For Streaming On Spotify And Apple Music!! During 2017, Sleep Also Released A Mini Project On The App #RapChat Entitled #RapChat???? I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
My Biggest Challenge Is Overcoming The Stigma Of Being An “Independent Artist”. Starting From Scratch With Out A Machine Is A Challenge But A Grind I Enjoy Non The Less. When I First Started Doing Shows Establishing The Connection With Those That Enjoyed My Music Was Kind Of Difficult At First But Everything Soon Started Coming Together. Also, People Don’t Understand Being “Independent” Doesn’t Mean Lower Quality… So I Have To Work That Much Harder To Convince People Or Future Fans/Supporters.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I Specialize In Writing, Producing, And Engineering. Also, Being An Independent Artist Has Allowed Me To Explore The Marketing Side Of Things As Well. I’ve Been Making Music For 15+ Years And I’ve Spent Most Of Those Years Truly Understanding The Fundamentals Of Establishing Myself As A Brand/Artist.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
I Just Feel Like You Should Chase What You Want But Don’t Force It. Puzzle Pieces Fit Together Perfectly When They’re Lined Up Correctly.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success Means Something Different To Everyone. But Me Personally I Think Success Is Progress. From The Smallest To The Biggest Accomplishments. I Remember When My SoundCloud First Hit 1Million Streams… You Couldn’t Tell Me Nothing lol.
What’s next for you?
I’m Looking To Drop My Album #QualityOverQuantity2 Late December. I Have Two Singles #DatDope Which I’ll Be Releasing October 15 And #SteppingOnN*ggas Late November. I Also Have A Side Project I’m Working On Entitled #TheSkeemix2 Which I’m Looking To Release SpringOf2K22.
