Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Steggehuis.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Honer is mine! I´m Stephanie Steggehuis, Dutch Entrepreneur and Speaker and I started my business Just Know How in august 2020, yes in plain covid19. I was so done with working for a boss and I wanted to do more with my passion Marketing and Courses, so I took the jump in 2020 and started Just Know How. It was the best time to do it, because of Covid19 many people needed to bring their offline business online, however mostly they had 0 experience in the online world. I saw a big need here and I was not wrong, my company had a profit in the first year of 6 figures and I did it all by myself, now I have a team of freelancers that helps me with some tasks like copy writing or social media and my business just keeps growing.

I got here by working hard and listening to the people, I never did any paid advertisement, I write blogs that answers their struggles, I am active in facebook groups where my audience is, I learned to work with all the populair email marketing tools and course platforms and follow weekly the latest news of this industry!

Passion and Dedication got me where I am today!

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Working long hours! Making mistakes in pricing (starting way to cheap) and always saying yes to clients! I think everyone makes this mistake in the beginning and this really helped me to say No, charge for what I do and become a better business owner.

But also, working with the ¨wrong¨ clients. In the beginning you basically say yes to everyone, you are just so happy work comes in and you do not really scan enough and I had some frustration because of it, but it for sure made me learn to in the future scan the client and the project very well before saying yes or accepting the call. And to not say yes to everyone! I trust my gut feeling now!

Another challenge was that most people think that when they start with Marketing, the sales comes in, and they mostly do not understand it takes a while and also still a lot of work from their side, so I needed to learn how to communicate this to clients and also to not take it personally. This now has become easier, because I have a track record and clear examples to show when it works and when not and I notice that after 1.5 year I found the perfect way to communicate it and explain how marketing really works but also to not feel guilty if it does not work when they did not follow my advise or kept doing what they always did.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I work with Course Creators (solo-preneurs and small businesses that have online courses, memberships or other online programs) and I build out their Marketing and Tech- Setup. You can think about email marketing sequences, sales pages, op-tin pages, UX of the courses on the platform, connect tools together etc…

People can also book Marketing Strategy Sessions, but the biggest part of my business are the packages that I build it all out for them with the information they provide me and of course with my own research I do in their competitors.

Why hire me? Good question, well I know (almost) everything in the course industry, all the platforms, what people search for in a course and the marketing flow that works and also I am a Kajabi Expert (which is a big course platform). When they hire me people can trust they are in the right hands with me, my whole communication is always about the Marketing of your course. While other Marketing Freelancers are not specialized in the Course Industry, this is a big advantage for me and I hear that on a daily base when people email me or plan a call. There are for sure people that do what I do, but I have not find them yet on Google.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Of course the things we all know, search your niche, find the problem and solve it but something what is super important also: Do what you are really passionate about!

Especially in the beginning you need to spend so much time on it and if you do not love what you doing you cannot be consistent!

Listen to yourself and your gut feeling, define what success is for you and go with that!

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success for me is having the time freedom, I can decide when to go on holiday, my own hours, where to work and having the financial freedom I have now! Those 2 types of freedom is success for me!

What’s next for you?

My next goal is creating a passive income part in the business. I have not yet really found out what I want to do, is it in a course or a paid podcast or something different, that is all what I am still thinking about. But I for sure I want to create something for a lower price, so that people can have my knowledge also that cannot pay for the packages. I want to help everyone, everyone deserves to succeed with their course!
