Exclusive Interview with Joshua
Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
I am Just a little country boy, Born in Atlanta Ga and Raised in Locust Grove Ga. I come from very humble beginnings. I grew up in a single family household and I watched my mother work 6 days a week sometimes 16 hours a day to make sure my sisters and I had what we needed. Seeing my mothers drive and her unwillingness to fail is where I get my determination to succeed. Growing up I was always picked on for not having the newsiest shoes or the nicest clothes’, and even ridiculed for the neighborhood we lived in. All of these factors groomed me to take on the world in a unique and positive way. There were so many days I was depressed and honestly didn’t want to be alive. I look back on those days now and I understand that God was using my differences and distinctions. When I make that statement it is to say I now understand that God was using my childhood to build a foundation for a successfully life. Years later I learned in my Real Estate career the foundation of a building has to be a deep as it is tall to withstand elements of natural disaster. Like most I don’t advertise my failures. However if I’m being completely honest I have had more failures than success, but because my foundation is as deep as it is tall my failures don’t phrase me like they should.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
Market changes in Real Estate have been extremally difficult to manage over the years. Recent changes in the Airbnb industry have also presented challenges. These were once my only source of income, But between My faith, My family, and God I am always assured I will always have what I need. I try to make sure I take a lesson away from every failure to apply to my success.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
It’s hard to really sum up what I do. I am what I like to call a serial entrepreneur. What I’m primarily known for is my Real Estate Brokerage. At the tender age of 5 years old our sales rank with the Top Brokerages in the Metro area. I specialize in the economic education of owning real estate. I not only teach my clients how to obtain Real Estate I educate them on the structure of their loan types, how they can pay the loan off quicker without having to double up on their mortgages. I also teach them how to generate income with their properties. In addition to Real State I also have a cosmetic line that focuses on all natural products. A few years ago I went to see a herbalist and she mentioned that she could look at me and tell I liked expensive colognes. She informed me that the chemicals in the colognes can cause or lead to side affects of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. This is what started my journey of developing my own cosmetics. My background and degree in cosmetology has been a great foundation while navigating through this new venture.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Never quit! When Real Estate market started to slow down it seemed like all forms of my revenue started to slow down all at once. Having more debt than I ever had in my life I have to admit I definitely felt like a failure. I remember calling my mom and telling her my plan to just get a job and start over. She took a deep breath and said “Bryant (because that’s what she calls me), did you pray about this?” I sat there quite and ashamed to tell her that I hadn’t. knowing her son she knew what that meant. She went on to remind me ” Didn’t you say it takes three years for a new business to start yielding a profit? You can not quit just because you’re experiencing a bad season. Seasons come but THEY HAVE TO CHANGE! You will more than likely have more failures in life but continue to focus on your successes even in your time of despair. Quitting is never the answer. Finding a way to continue on will always be your best option.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success to me is being able to take care of my family. Providing the things we all thought we’d never have. Changes the lives of the people I love by creating employment that offers salaries above what they’ve received from any other previous employer. Success to me is the peace of knowing my family is well. It’s not a dollar amount or any form of validation for me. It’s simply my freedom to be happy.
What’s next for you?
What’s next is to continue going my cosmetic line and watching it grow.
Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
