Exclusive Interview With Britanie Smith, ATL Skincare Nurse
Today we’d like to introduce you to Britanie Smith.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
My name is Britanie Smith I am a Registered Nurse, Licensed Esthetician, a Laser Practitioner, a Cosmetic Injector and the founder of Critically Aesthetic. Basically I am your skin care expert. I began my career as a certified nursing assistant right after high school, then I worked my way up to being a registered nurse. Before nursing school I want it to be a theater make up artist, but instead I listen to other people who told me to stick to nursing in order to have a sustainable career. I began working in the transfer unit right out of nursing school. The transplant unit was very rewarding, however I needed something more so I’m moved to the intensive care unit (ICU). Again I needed something more thrilling and exciting, so I began traveling as I see you nurse where I came in worked with multiple teaching level 1 hospital systems. After being a nurse for over five years I decided to find something for me to make me excited about working I decided to enroll and an aesthetician program where I receive my aesthetician license after the program I began volunteering at a med spa where I enjoyed putting together my medical knowledge and my Aesthetics knowledge which inspired me and allowed me to be creative and be a much happier environment.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
Success has not come easy for me I have had a lot of challenges just as everyone else in their lifetime however my background has taught me to pivot and maneuver through those challenges and to continue to move forward. Being the oldest of five children I have definitely learned to be a leader I’ve definitely learned to not make excuses and I have definitely learned that things will come easy and you will make mistakes. I recall while in nursing school I went through life changing situation and I wanted to give up I want to drop out people told me to take a break but I Knew that I needed to complete to make a change I had to risk a lot I missed out on a lot but one thing that I did not do was give up on myself no matter how hard things have gotten in life that.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I do aesthetics In the form of skin care. Aesthetics is simply having The appreciation for beauty and I have the appreciation for skincare. I provide skin care treatment options for all skin types to help bring confident and ageless skin. I do this by providing skin care such as facials products and treatments that includes chemical peels, Dermaplaning, Laser Skin tightening, And micro dermabrasion. I also provide laser hair removal and cosmetic injections. I believe in educating my clientele on their skin and on the products that they use in order to receive the results that they desire. No matter what service they receive they will always receive educational material. People should choose to work with me over the competitors because I Combine Healthcare with Skincare. I’ve worked for many years in the ICU so I have those nursing skills to quickly assess, diagnosis and treatment. Assessing the skin is a part of my job description and responsibilities as a nurse. Most people don’t know that the skin is our largest organ. The skin is also the only organ that can be seen and will be judged by others. Another fact about the skin is that most fatal infections began with the skin barrier that has been broken. For instance, bacterial and fungal infection begin where the skin barrier has broken and travels through the bloodstream and interrupts the function of other organs. That is why I say skin care is healthcare.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
The best advice I can give someone to read success is the first determine what a success means for them what is their perception of success because it’s asking me so many different things to so many different people next I will tell them to have a goal right the goal down then write down how to get to that goal once you reach that goal repeat it never give up on your go you may have to alter it you may have to make changes you may have to put it on pause however do not give up Henri Chan what it means to be successful for you there will be times where you will have to sacrifice where you will have to cry and where you will have to lean on your faith but as long as you continue to move forward and not give up you will always be successful. My grandma always told me that I can Give in, but I cannot give up, meaning that I can always take a break but I cannot give up so if you need to take a break take a break but never give up.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
“Give All” meaning that I can always take time to give all into any situation, but I cannot give up!
What’s next for you?
There is so much more coming for Critically Aesthetic. For instance an educational institute to train others and especially nurses in transitioning to Aesthetics and Cosmetics. I can’t wait to help others learn something new.
Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
