Nick Edwards didn’t just create another coaching brand—he built a framework for transformation. As founder of My Leadership Coach, his mission is simple yet profound: help leaders find clarity, cultivate growth, and create legacies that last.
“I saw too many talented people leading without direction,” Edwards recalls. “That pain became my purpose—to empower leaders, strengthen teams, and shape legacies.”
Turning Experience Into a System
Years of leadership across business and nonprofit sectors gave Edwards a front-row seat to both success and dysfunction. Those observations became the foundation of My Leadership Coach, a coaching practice designed to bring order to chaos.
“My goal wasn’t to start a business; it was to solve a problem,” he says. “Clarity changes everything—communication, consistency, and results.”
The Early Struggles of Selling Yourself
For a natural leader but reluctant marketer, personal branding didn’t come easy.
“The hardest part was marketing myself,” Edwards admits. “As a coach, I wasn’t selling a product—I was selling transformation. That felt uncomfortable at first.”
Rather than chase gimmicks, he focused on authenticity and client impact. Over time, referrals began to flow organically.
The Moment That Changed Everything
Edwards vividly remembers the day his side business outgrew his full-time job.
“Referrals were coming faster than I could schedule. I set a date, quit my job, and went all in,” he says. “That was the turning point.”
Three Rules for Every Aspiring Leader
- Define your destination. Know what success truly looks like.
- Get started. Clarity without action leads nowhere.
- Don’t stop. Resistance is proof of progress.
“These three principles are universal,” Edwards says. “They work for entrepreneurs, executives, and teams alike.”
The Myth of Balance
Edwards challenges one of leadership’s most common clichés.
“Work-life balance is a myth. The goal is mastery,” he explains. “Be fully present where you are. If you win at business and lose at home—you lose.”
He avoids burnout by learning daily, managing energy, and striving to add value in every conversation.
What’s Next
Edwards’ next evolution includes a new book, Big Dream, Small Steps, and a faith-focused leadership podcast launching in fall 2025 called Leading Forward.
“These projects are about giving leaders practical steps to turn purpose into progress,” he says.
