Attorney Ryenne Shaw: Small Businesses Are Making Money, But Leaving Wealth on the Table
Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryenne Shaw.
It’s an honor to highlight your success on our platform. Do you mind telling us about the things you’ve been able to accomplish?
After over ten years of legal experience, I started my law firm, the Bosses’ Lawyer to provide the legal support small business bosses need to grow and protect their brands, businesses, and assets. I spent most of my early legal career assisting C.E.O.s, General Counsel, and in-house legal counsel of both large and small corporations in minimizing liability, protecting business assets and maximizing profits. While working with many of these entities, I realized that smaller entities are often underserved. I saw that small business owners weren’t receiving the same level of legal support larger corporations relied upon to grow and sustain. I knew this was a major contributor to the ceiling that most small businesses hit before they’ve even scratched the surface of their potential. And I knew at that moment that all of this lack of knowledge and support was contributing to the wealth gap.
Now I assist small business owners in leveraging the same legal strategies large corporations have used for years to build businesses that do more than just make money – but create wealth. We don’t just churn out legal documents at the Bosses’ Lawyer. We provide the legal support and strategy that it takes to make the contracts, the trademarks, the copyrights, the trade secrets, etc. work for you to create freedom, security, and wealth. You don’t start a business to make money. Jobs make money. You start a business to build wealth. And that’s what we do at the Bosses’ Lawyer.
Tell us about some of the memories you’ve made on your journey!
I’ve definitely made a lot of memories on this journey. One of my fondest memories is the day I submitted my resignation from my six-figure corporate job to open my firm. The email had been sitting in my drafts for weeks. I hadn’t sent it because I kept thinking to myself: “well, I could use just one more check, couldn’t I?!” And the more I thought that, the longer that email sat in my drafts. But on this particular day, I happened to be sitting at my desk and something came over me. I could have sworn I heard a voice say clear as day: “do it.” And I’m like: “wait, what? Do it? Like . . . Do it now?” Again I heard: “do it.” And I knew at that very moment that God was telling me it was time. I went to my drafts, closed my eyes, and I pressed send. And after I did it, I didn’t feel the fear I expected. I felt peace. I was ready.
Do you have any final thoughts you would like to share with our audience?
I sure do! Entrepreneurs and small business owners: don’t just start the business; BUILD the business. The whole purpose of business ownership is to build wealth. If your business isn’t building wealth, you don’t have a business. You have an expensive job. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to turning your business into the wealth-building machine that it was intended to be . . . It takes strategy. And it takes consistency.
